Toyota switched out to a hydraulic unit that operates by oil pressure from a ratcheting version early in the 1FZ history. This tensioner is the OEM unit readily available and not to be confused with the modified ratcheting tensioner that is sometimes available. Total install time is about ten minutes and is accessible from the side of the head.
